Sometimes there is just nothing like eye candy… but rest assured it was as delicious and complex as it was beautiful.
And also inventive, fun, whimsical, and lighthearted… Enjoy!
“Creations” tasting menu at L’Atelier de Jean-Luc Rabanel.
April 7, 2012 in Arles, France (in no particular order). For French (and food&wine) buffs, here is the file with the line-up, including the wine pairings:
Jolies photos!:)
Merci!
wow ca a l’air delicieux!
Les plats ont ete SUPER!
like like like! The little boats are fabulous 🙂
how was this N? Were you mesmerized?
Actually, this 2-star experience was pretty comfortable, much more along the lines of what we are used to. They don’t even require you to dress to the 9’s. That’s their schtick, – low-key Michelin experience. The food and the wine pairings were superb. I *was* totally mezmerized at Le Cinq in Paris, and felt out of my element.
I have been to a couple of Michelin and I have not yet been blown away. I am glad this was exciting and excellent as well. How is DC today?
Food-wise? All-in-all, mediocre, with a few outstanding exceptions. We get our fix in NYC, as you know. At the end of May, we will also be going to Chicago (1st time for me, believe it or not).
I was just thinking in a rhetorical way, kind of a WP come stai…
Chicago! Are you going to Alinea?
Oh oh, I get it…things are going well! The only bad thing about vacations is that now I am snowed under with work, after stuffing my face in Provence.
I am currently on the waiting list for Alinea; I am unsure if it is going to happen this time. Apparently you have to reserve 3 months ahead of time to get what you want. But, we are going to L2O and Avec, among others!
you should see if Viktorija knows anyone at Alinea 🙂
I hate being obtuse…who is Viktorija?
In any case, Alinea may not be as appropriate for a vegetarian…
right. I thought you e-met my friend Viktorija, She is a wine/cooking instructor in Chicago and the author of The Puglian Cookbook. http://www.olivacooking.com/?page_id=924 You guys would get on quite well I think. She is in Sardinia now researching her next project
Looks devine!
One must have nerves of steel to eat something so impossibly cute and pretty!
It is much easier en masse. In France, one’s tender feelings get hardened quickly by daily consumption of many cute things. It is a sacrifice we were willing to make 🙂
Love food porn!! Looks delightful. Thanks for the like on my recent like at The Nutrition Doctor is In the Kitchen! Now .. if you missed one of my posts on food porn you really must check it out… and, just for the record, normally I do NOT post links to my own posts when I respond on someone else’s blog, unless it’s utterly apropos. And it is, today – and it’s a video not by me, by the way. Check it: http://blog.pknewby.com/2012/03/29/food-art-music-comedy-awesome/ Cheers, PKN
